Famous For a Day

Lynette has been kind enough to humor me with some fantastic interview questions. Here goes:

1. A crazy billionaire wants to bankroll one of your passions - but only one. Which would you pursue?
Oh no! Only one?! Very difficult. I can easily eliminate all but two: triathlon and photography. It'd be a dream come true to have a darkroom of my own, numerous cameras, unlimited film, traveling money, etc. On the other hand how can I pass up free bikes, sporting gear, and trips to random places with great races? It just can't be done. Triathlon is the winner. Plus, the feeling of pushing myself through a really tough workout can't be beat.

2. What is your favorite state or region in the U.S. and why?
Another very tough question. While I am completely in love with several of the places I've lived (Hawaii, Colorado, & Minnesota), I have to go with California. Gorgeous groves of Redwoods and Sequoias, picturesque San Francisco, Monteray Bay, Lake Tahoe, perfect beaches, San Diego, and great scuba diving off of Catalina Island. But the best thing about California is Yosemite National Park. I fell in love with it the first time I went and can't get enough of it. It's awfully tempting to become a backpacking bum and just live there. Pretty sure my parents wouldn't approve though.

3. Think of the celebrities that you find totally hot. Now picture them never having been famous and pumping gas in some podunk town. Which one(s) would drop off your "hot list"?
Christian Bale would be hot doing pretty much whatever so he gets to stay. Jimmy Fallon is cute, plays guitar, and charming so he also gets to stay. And since Jon Stewart is hilarious and smart he's not booted either. I have a feeling that if Edward Norton and Alan Rickman were pumping my gas and decided to hit on me I'd be fairly creeped out. *Shudder*

4. If you could put yourself into any movie, which would it be and how would you work into the story line?
My all time favorite movie, Casablanca. I'd be the Nazi spy disguised as a lounge singer who tries to seduce Victor Lazlo to get the Letters of Transit from him. After failing to obtain them by those means (because obviously Victor loves Ilsa and doesn't even have the letters) I would succeed in stealing them from Rick's piano. Later on I would have a change in heart, give the letters to Ilsa and Lazlo, and win Rick's undying love.

5. Who do people say you remind them of - is it a famous person or a friend/family member?
People are always telling me that I remind them of someone they know or trying to play the "I know I've seen you before and let's try to figure out where from" game. I've only ever had one person tell me that I reminded them of Princess Leia, but I'm pretty sure they were smoking dope.

Yah, Cali has a bit of everything.

The pumping gas question came from my facination with anyone who finds Kid Rock "hot". I mean, ok, EWWWW! Money or no money - that man is just skank embodied. And please tell me that if he was pumping gas and hit on Pamela Anderson that she wouldn't have had her body guard dismember him!

Love the Casablanca story line. Who wouldn't love to try to seduce Victor Lazlo!

Very nice! I've been to Yosemite too, about eight years ago... it was just incredible. I have always regretted that I can't ice skate simple because I so wanted to skate on the rink there, surrounded by those obscenely amazing mountains. Have you seen the exhibition of Yosemite photos by Ansel Adams? (Is it him or am I getting confused with someone else?) Anyway, that was my favourite place from my whole trip round the States.

Did your parents move much when you were growing up? Asking as you seem too young to have lived in Hawaii, Colorado and Minnesota already.

Hmmm... Hawaii. And love the triathalon dream! I'd probably be the same way... but with shopping money instead of sports equipment. I'm such a pansy. :o)

Stacy: It was one of the most wonderful places ever. What always amazed me was how much there was to see on one little island. I stayed on Oahu the whole time and still didn't see everything I wanted to.

Lynette: Wait, real people actually think Kid Rock is hot?! They can't really be serious. I always just blamed Pamela's apparent interest to her lack of intelligence (ooh, that came out a little harsher than I meant it to sound). Gross gross gross.

Allie: LOVE Ansel Adams! He's part of the reason I love Yosemite so much.

Weiss: If you start calling me Princess Leia we are so not friends anymore :)

Diane: I'm the oldest child so I got packed around as my parents moved for school and a few jobs. Utah (northern, Ohio, Utah (southern), then Minnesota. Then I landed in Hawaii for a semester, finished school in Utah, and just moved to Colorado. I really can't imagine ever being the type of person who has lived their whole lives in one location. I start to get stir crazy after a few years. Maybe not with Colorado though, we'll have to see.

Heidi: I don't know about being a pansy. I've been out with some marathon shoppers before that have drained me of all life and energy :)
