R.I.P.

Dear Worn Out Blue Jeans,

I'm so sorry that it's come to this. You know I've tried to keep you with me as long as possible. How could I not when you've been so generous to me. Hugging in all the right places and giving a little in others. And I won't even try to describe how soft you've become.

You were there during those awfully long chemistry labs, when I finally finished with school, when I decided to move to Colorado, and when I met all my new friends. You've had a long beautiful life and given 100% of yourself.

But you can be patched no more. I must carry on and find another favorite pair of jeans to replace you. And though I'm sure I'll grow to love them as much as I've loved you, there will always be a special place for you in my heart.

Love Always,

JenKneeBee

Under the Sea

On Saturday I made my way up to Denver with a couple of friends to see The Little Mermaid - The Musical. It's doing a quick "try-out" run in Denver before heading to Broadway. I have to admit I wasn't expecting much. A movie with more than half of it's scenes underwater turned into a musical? There's no way they could pull it off.
But they did, amazingly enough. I was completely blown away by how fantastic the entire production was. The sets were incredibly detailed and it wasn't hard to believe the scenes were taking place under water. The costumes were as gorgeous and shimmery as the sets and the actors were all perfect. Sierra Bogges embodies everything that Ariel is. And the music! The show contained all the music from the movie but had eight extra songs thrown in the mix. Usually when they decide to throw extra songs into musicals they're good, but not great. These were great! My favorite song was one of the new ones that Flounder and Ariel's sisters sing.
All in all, it was a great experience. I would highly recommend making an effort to see it if you make your way to New York (or Denver).
ps - did i mention Prince Eric and Kind Tritan are total hotties?!

Scars can come in useful. I have one myself above my left knee which is a perfect map of the London Underground.

A while ago, Sarakastic bestowed me with a Rockin' Girl Blogger award. I'd like to thank the entire state of Colorado, my mother, and the Trek company. Without whom, my life would be incredibly different. And super lame.

And now I get to give it out to some lucky gals. And the winners are:

*Coxy for her self-proclaimed prude-ness
*Heidikins for her absolutely wonderful taste in shoes
*April because she survived her encounter with The Devil and lived to tell the blogosphere
*The Quixotic Pragmatist because she gave some very worthy advice in her power hour
